About the Author
Moira Daphne Gonzales Toledo is a university student at The University of Hong Kong, majoring in Art History, Education, and Sociology. She moved to Hong Kong from the Philippines 9 years ago with her mother, seeking a better future.
Moira is a passionate advocate and frequent public speaker on issues including mental health, struggles faced by ethnic minorities, and LGBTQ+ rights. She actively participates in events organised by The Zubin Foundation, where her artistic talents have helped raise thousands of dollars for these causes. Her expertise and perspectives on the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ ethnic minorities in Hong Kong led to an interview with the Hong Kong Free Press (HKFP).
Studying at university has given Moira the opportunity to further develop her writing and public speaking skills, which she is determined to make the most of.
In her leisure time, Moira enjoys solving the Rubik’s Cube, spending quality time with friends, and honing her artistic abilities by drawing portraits.
