Lady Emily Korir OAM is a transformative global advocate championing women, migrants, and people with disabilities worldwide. Her journey from the slums of Nakuru, Kenya—born to a teenage mother as a result of rape—to international prominence embodies resilience and fierce determination.
In 2012, Emily survived a devastating stroke, defying predictions of permanent disability. Through unwavering grit, she earned a Master’s in Business Administration and founded BET Group Global, a celebrated organization promoting inclusive employment and pioneering accessible, dignified housing across Australia and Africa. Through the BET Foundation, she advocates against Female Genital Mutilation and protects vulnerable communities.
Her influence spans continents, from shaping disability services in rural Australia and Kenya to global advocacy platforms. Emily’s impact has earned prestigious recognition including the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), the South Australian Women’s Honour Roll, and the Global Women of Influence Award 2025.
