Carrie Bennett

About the Author

Carrie Bennett grew up in a small rural community in Alberta, Canada. As a child, she was inspired by the stories and images from places unlike her own that she found in her parents’ National Geographic collection. Little did she realize that those days of magazine flipping would lead her to live an international life once she finished university.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Educational Leadership, Carrie has spent the last 21 years as an educator. Her career has spanned two roles: one as a high school English teacher and the second as a high school associate principal. These roles have been served in Canada, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Japan, and now in Hong Kong. She is a passionate educator who seeks to build schools where students are at the centre of their experience, academically and social-emotionally.

Carrie has a husband who is a high school counsellor, a 17-year-old son, and a 13-year-old daughter. She feels blessed to have had the opportunity to bring up a family in such culturally diverse environments.

Carrie Bennett is the co-author of the book #MyVoice - Stories of Transformation and Purpose by Women of Substance (Vol-II). Her chapter is "The Story of Yes."
