Kalpalathika Thiyagarajan

About the Author

Kalpalathika Thiyagarajan is a trained psychotherapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She is also a psychologist, a qualified Mindfulness trainer and a Brainspotting practitioner. Kal focuses on relationship issues, anger management, behavioral and self-worth issues to name a few and also has experience working with teenagers and parents in a secondary school setting.

 

Apart from personal counselling, as a free-lancer, Kal was also contracted to conduct training and counselling for Singapore Airlines and for inmates at Changi Prison.

 

Being a certified Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, she teaches and supervises students and practitioners of counselling and clinical hypnotherapy. She also facilitates mindfulness workshops and programs targeting stress management and lifestyle changes.

 

Kal started her career in Indian classical dance and was a world-renowned dancer, teacher, choreographer in Kuchipudi for more than 23 years before embarking on her counselling journey. She is the Director of Kalm Wellness Centre and Counselling Services, Singapore.

Kalpalathika Thiyagarajan is the co-author of the book #MyVoice - Stories of Transformation and Purpose by Women of Substance (Vol-II). Her chapter is "Falling Not Failing."
