About the Author

Shirley Adrain is a Diversity and Inclusion Consultant, Leadership Coach and Corporate Trainer for global banks and professional services organisations across Asia.

She began her two-decade career in Wall Street and has since worked in London, Singapore and now Hong Kong. In 2017 Shirley founded and became CEO of Career Catalyst Group (CCG).

Her financial leadership roles include COO and global Chief of Staff for Tier 1 investment banks like JP Morgan and Citigroup. Shirley has a monthly programme on RTHK Radio 3 and regularly speaks on D&I focussed event panels.

A keen classical singer, she has performed in Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Centre. Despite always being health conscious, Shirley was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2020.

Overcoming the initial shock of her real limitations (ageing, disease and death) Shirley drew on her professional learnings to help her move past her imagined limitations (time and resources) and now lives from her deeper, more authentic self.

Shirley Adrain is the co-author of the book #MyVoice - A Collective Memoir by Women of Substance (Vol-I). Her chapter is - "And Then Came the Biggest Curveball".
