Consul General Jennifer Bourke arrived in Hong Kong in September 2023 to take up the post of Consul General of Ireland to Hong Kong and Macao. She is the third Consul General of Ireland in Hong Kong and the first woman to occupy the role.

Her previous postings were in Vancouver and Bangkok. This is her first time as Head of Mission and she is proud to have assumed the role in the year that Ireland achieved gender parity at Head of Mission level globally, for the first time in the State’s history.

Prior to joining the foreign service Jennifer worked in retail and retail management for a number of years. Her educational background is in Theology, Classical Civilizations and Peace Studies.
